How Do Crane Scales Measure Weight or Force?

Crane scales and electronic hanging scales measure force with devices known as load cells. These load cells are made of strain gauges which are small devices that change resistance under load. By monitoring these changes in resistance, we are able to convert the physical phenomena of a load into an electrical signal that can easily be monitored, displayed, or broadcasted.

How Can I View Measurements?

There are many different ways that you can view your electronic hanging scale or crane scale measurement data. First, you can purchase a display either connected to your crane scale with a cable or wireless indicator that will allow you to view the current load from a distance. With the purchase of a Bluetooth receiver, you can view measurement data from any Bluetooth compatible device such as a computer, tablet, or phone.
