Bollard Pull / Drag Force Tests
Dynamometers, when used as pull scales, are used for load and force testing as well as pull test applications, including drag force testing.
Several examples of force testing: Testing drag force of rescue vehicles, plows, and of course tug boats which is also known as the Bollard pull test.
Bollard pull tests are conducted in order to check a tugboat’s pull force capability, to confirm that it has the power to tow and maneuver large ocean going vessels.
When pull scales are used for force testing applications, the following features are important:
-
Portability for efficient and convenient on-site working
-
High sealing level for adaptation to offshore and harsh environments
-
Long battery life for convenient on-site operation
-
90 degrees between shackle holes
-
RS-232
-
High accuracy: 0.1% of full scale
-
Additional wireless displays
-
Offshore sealing level
-
Set points
-
Multi point load monitoring
