Ron StageMaster: AC/DC Black Ice tour
The Ron StageMaster 6000 load monitoring system was used 15 years ago on AC/DC’s Black Ice world tour. For this setup, the RSM system supports a full-sized steam locomotive replica and a 5,000 kg LED video wall, ensuring both elements are hoisted and balanced with precision.
The locomotive required dual 2-ton hoists at each end, supported by a delta plate for stability. RSM load cells provide real-time weight monitoring throughout the installation, safeguarding against overload and streamlining setup.
On the same production, the LED video wall is mounted on a 20-meter truss suspended by nine chain hoists, allowing smooth movement in all directions on a motorized track. Before the full weight is applied, the RSM system ensures the truss is perfectly leveled, simplifying cable management and enhancing rigging safety across this complex setup.
"The RSM aided in the safe rigging of my production while saving valuable time not running cables. The ease in which the cells can be moved from one hoist to another is amazing."
